I’ve been absent for awhile now on here. Got tired of running and decided to take a break to do some home projects. Then the holidays hit, and I was stuck doing extra work. Lots of excuses and 10 extra pounds later, I’m back to running.
I’m signed up for the Dallas 1/2 Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon so that is my goal. I’m taking it easy though because I don’t want my life to be absorbed by running as I have a lot of other projects I want to get done. So I plan to just run when I can and hope my past training will help fill in the gaps. Moderation is key this year!

We bought an exercise recumbent bike from our friends. I’m not sure what the numbers on the dash mean because my HR monitor barely made it into Zone 2 and yet it says I averaged 17 mph for 55 minutes. But then both the bike and the HR monitor said around 200 calories and that also doesn’t support the average 17mph for 55 minutes. I guess I’ll have to seek out a manual for it.

Decided since my legs felt like jelly to just slow it down and do a Zone 3 workout. This + warm up + cool down = slow time
I think my legs are tired b/c not only have I been ramping up my mileage, I’ve been throwing in some light workouts for my YMCA New Leaf program and also walking the dog 2x a day. Maybe I should try my YMCA workouts in the pool or on the bike.
